Why has U.S. security policy scarcely changed from the Bush to the Obama administration?
Michael J. Glennon, a Professor at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, offers a disquieting answer in National Security and Double Government (Oxford University Press, 2014). Glennon challenges the myth that U.S. security policy is still forged by America’s visible, “Madisonian institutions” – the President, Congress, and the courts. Their roles, he argues, have become largely illusory.
This event is co-sponsored by the International Law Society at NYU School of Law and The Fletcher Club of New York. Light dinner will be provided.
